Love, Ernest (Bar Play)

"Love, Ernest" Audio Drama at "Stranniki"

Sometimes the most honest conversation happens with a chance companion at a bar counter. PROCESS Theater and "Stranniki" gastrobar invite Silk Road Hotel guests to just such an encounter.

What It's About

"Love, Ernest" is a personal conversation about true love and a second chance, where you and Ernest Hemingway are the main characters.

One evening, old Hem, having dropped into "Stranniki" bar by chance, is ready in a fit of romantic nostalgia to bare his soul to you — and tell the story of his first love that changed his entire life and the trajectory of his work forever. About the very girl to whom, many years later, he was still sending letters signed "Love, Ernest."

The play is based on real events from the writer's life. The director of the immersive audio drama, Nikolay Gostyukhin, and playwright Vladimir Krasilnikov thoroughly studied Hemingway's childhood and his family's diaries, and then discovered in the US National Archives and the Hemingway family home-museum the very story of first love that almost no one knows about.

How It Works

You don't need to prepare or know anything in advance — you don't even have to have read Hemingway. After buying tickets for any showtime you like, simply head downstairs from your room to "Stranniki" gastrobar. Here you will be given special headphones for a heartfelt chat with Ernie, and your meeting will be accompanied by two non-alcoholic cocktails specially developed for the audio drama by the bar team. Just 30 minutes — and a whole evening of aftertaste.

Schedule

Showtimes take place weekly on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 18:00, 19:00, and 20:00.
